The 43‑megawatt gas‑engine power plant operated by Tornion Voima brings rapidly startable and highly flexible generation capacity to the electricity system. Finland’s first modern engine power plant strengthens security of electricity supply, particularly when weather‑dependent generation is insufficient to meet demand or when the electricity market requires fast balancing power.
