EPV Energy’s subsidiary, Tornion Voima, received excellent overall scores in the HSEQ assessment. The result significantly exceeded the average scores of all evaluated companies, demonstrating Tornion Voima’s commitment to quality and determined operations.
In late August, Tornion Voima achieved an excellent result in the HSEQ assessment conducted by Kiwa Inspecta Oy, commissioned by Outokumpu. The assessment ensures that the evaluated supplier operates according to the principles agreed upon by the client companies in health, safety, environment, and quality matters.
Tornion Voima’s overall score was rated as excellent, with a total score of 450, significantly surpassing the average score of 391. The company’s performance was particularly praised in categories such as safety training for supervisors, knowledge management, and safety practices. No deviations were found, and only three areas for improvement were noted.
“The recognition and excellent result from the audit are significant factors for Tornion Voima, creating confidence among both the client organization and the staff”, says CEO Aki Hakulinen.
“Continuous improvement in management practices and operations is ongoing, ensuring that Tornion Voima remains a reliable partner for all parties involved”, he adds.
The feedback and excellent rating from the audit are a significant acknowledgment of the determined leadership and reporting practices that have been maintained throughout the power plant’s operation, with commitment at every organizational level.
“Quality and determined operations are both a right and a duty for everyone. This is the backbone of our operations, and every committed employee deserves thanks. Without a clear operational model and everyone’s commitment, such recognition would not be possible”, Hakulinen concludes.
The certification from the HSEQ assessment is valid for the next three years.
